KEEPING A WORKOUT JOURNAL

Fitness

IMPORTANT

PIECES

YOUR TRAINING PLAN

Preferrably a check-off-able version of it. Get that dopamine rush by crossing off your completed workout sessions - or give yourself the space to write about why they didnt happen (honestly).

NEXT

A PLACE FOR FEEDBACK

Feel good? Note it. Feel horrible? Note that too. What did you eat? Were you prepared? How did you sleep? Give context to the score or time.

NEXT

COLOR CODES

Make it easy to review. Color code everything.  - Complete vs incomplete - Reason for incompletion - Personal best  - Adaptation needed

NEXT

WHEN TO

WRITE

BEFORE & AFTER

Don't just note how you finished a workout - note your mindset before starting. Are you succumbing to self fulfilling prophecies? Or are you willing yourself to good quality workouts?

NEXT

DAWN & DUSK

Take it up a notch and note how you're feeling when you wake up and good to bed. Note how you slept & if sleep impacts your performance (hint, it will).

NEXT

BE

HONEST

HONESTY OR NOTHING

If you put falsities in your notes, are they really notes? The entire point of this is to learn what works and doesn't work for your body during training. The brutal truth will set you free.

NEXT

WHEN TO

REVIEW

MONTHLY

If not sooner.  Constantly review your training & set goals for the next month based on your notes and feedback. Commit to the process of constantly evolving and results will follow.
